Human Resources Generalist

About the role

The Human Resources Generalist will support multiple Sagewood at Daybreak communities by ensuring compliance with HR policies and applicable laws, while delivering consistent HR processes across locations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist each community in complying with company HR policies and federal, state, and local employment regulations.
• Conduct associate file audits and support All Staff and CMT meetings.
• Partner with hiring managers and recruiters to post jobs, screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and manage pre‑employment requirements.
• Oversee post‑hire procedures, onboarding, and first‑day essentials for new associates.
• Coordinate training programs, maintain training records, and manage termination processes.
• Investigate and resolve associate grievances, handle unemployment and workers’ compensation claims, and coordinate leaves of absence.
• Administer benefits, recognition programs, and ensure accurate HRIS data.
• Validate timecards, distribute paychecks, and perform self‑audits as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field (preferred).
• 3–7 years of HR generalist experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP) preferred.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using HRIS systems.
