IT Operating System Engineer

About the role

The Operating System Engineer will ensure that all operating systems, mainframe environments, storage units, personal computers, backup solutions, and disaster‑recovery sites are correctly installed, configured, and maintained for uninterrupted bank operations. The role involves monitoring performance, applying updates, and supporting users while adhering to security and business continuity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and deploy operating systems and related infrastructure across the bank’s environment.
• Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation to meet business needs.
• Maintain uninterrupted service for operating systems, storage, backup, and disaster‑recovery sites.
• Apply updates and upgrades while implementing data security and protection measures.
• Test and validate new or modified systems to confirm they meet functional and user requirements.
• Provide technical support and implement enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
• Track all issues and observations in the designated issue‑management system (Jira).
• Participate as a primary or alternate member of the Business Continuity Plan and emergency response teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operating system administration and deployment.
• Strong knowledge of backup solutions and disaster‑recovery processes.
• Ability to monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Familiarity with issue‑tracking tools, particularly Jira.
• Understanding of data security and information protection requirements.
• Willingness to support business continuity and emergency response activities.
