Lead Auditor and Tutor

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Auditor and Tutor to oversee food safety audits for a range of food manufacturing clients. The role combines hands‑on auditing with mentoring of audit team members, ensuring compliance with international standards while delivering high‑quality training.

Key responsibilities

• Chair opening and closing audit meetings and assign audit tasks to team members.
• Manage external representatives during audits, including experts, translators, and accreditation bodies.
• Communicate audit progress and concerns to clients and the audit team regularly.
• Adjust audit scope as needed and resolve divergent opinions on audit evidence.
• Review findings against objectives, classify non‑conformities, and agree on audit conclusions.
• Confirm audit programme suitability and recommend modifications for future audits.
• Prepare and take responsibility for the content of the audit report.
• Advise the Technical Manager on certification decisions, including initial, maintenance, recertification, suspension, or scope changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in food science or food manufacturing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the food industry with solid auditing background.
• IRCA/CQI certified lead auditor for ISO 22000 and FSSC; GFSI knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
