Lifeguard

About the role

A hotel belonging to the Accor network, which brings together more than 45 brands, 5,500 hotels, 10,000 restaurants and lifestyle destinations, is looking for a full-time lifeguard in Aqaba. The lifeguard is responsible for the safety of guests and employees in the swimming areas during posted business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure guest and employee safety in the pool during business hours
• Set up the pool safety equipment: life-saving flotation devices along the shoreline, correct colour flags, a rescue surfboard, a first aid kit at the pool office, and display business hours, pool depth, water and air temperatures, wind force and speed
• Respond to any emergency in the swimming area and supervise and organise rescues of windsurfers, sailors and sea bikes
• Make sure water sport and pool activities follow the RSA manual safety procedures, including wearing life jackets or flotation devices
• Post safety rules and regulations at the pool centre
• Act as temporary replacement during bathroom breaks, lunch and other breaks
• Maintain high standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, uniform and posture for oneself and all staff involved in life-saving operations
• Carry out special projects and other reasonable duties assigned by the Recreation Manager or their delegate

Required profile

• Certified lifeguard of any of the world's Life Guard Associations, on active status
• Artificial resuscitation (mouth-to-mouth) and CPR certification
