MEAL Manager – National (Syria)

About the role

The MEAL Manager will lead the design, implementation and quality assurance of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning systems for Save the Children’s programmes across Syria. Working closely with the Head of MEAL, the role ensures data‑driven decision‑making, child‑safety compliance and evidence‑based programme adaptation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement MEAL frameworks aligned with SCI strategies, quality benchmarks and AGD principles.
• Lead project reviews, evaluations, budgeting and recruitment for the MEAL function.
• Support proposal writing, logframe development and timely reporting of Syria‑wide results.
• Provide technical assistance to partners and coordinate with MEAL Coordinators on field activities.
• Capture and disseminate contextual lessons learned to inform future programming.
• Oversee rollout of secure data‑management systems and ensure compliance with data protection policies.
• Collaborate with the PDQ Director and Research team to improve data reporting processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in MEAL within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑site programmes and conduct rigorous evaluations.
• Understanding of child safeguarding (Level 3) and ability to work with vulnerable populations.
• Willingness to travel to project sites (minimum 30% field visits).
