MHPSS Specialist – Palestine Emergency

About the role

The MHPSS Specialist will lead the technical quality, coherence and coordination of mental health and psychosocial support activities within Humanity & Inclusion’s Palestine emergency programme. Based in Amman, the role supports implementation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and prepares the upcoming transition to the regional office.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure integration of MHPSS into health, rehabilitation and education interventions.
• Harmonise tools, approaches and processes between Gaza and the West Bank.
• Provide technical guidance to field teams and partners.
• Monitor and evaluate MHPSS activities, ensuring compliance with humanitarian standards.
• Contribute to knowledge transfer and continuity during the programme transition.
• Support reporting and documentation of MHPSS outcomes.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in psychology, social work, public health or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in MHPSS programming in humanitarian settings.
• Proven experience coordinating multi‑sectoral interventions.
• Ability to work in a fast‑changing emergency context.
• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency preferred.

Required skills

• MHPSS (mental health and psychosocial support) expertise.
• Knowledge of humanitarian standards such as IASC guidelines.
• Experience with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
