Principal MEP Engineer – Building Services

About the role

WSP Middle East is looking for a Principal MEP Engineer to join its Amman office. The role will lead the mechanical design of building services projects across the Middle East, ensuring technical excellence from concept through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver mechanical design packages for commercial, residential and mixed‑use projects.
• Design HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire‑protection systems in line with project requirements.
• Ensure all designs comply with international codes such as ASHRAE, NFPA and BS, as well as local authority regulations.
• Contribute to sustainable and energy‑efficient design solutions.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and contractors to achieve project objectives.
• Prepare, review and approve technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–15 years of experience in mechanical building services design.
• Strong knowledge of international standards and local authority requirements.
• Experience on commercial, residential or mixed‑use building projects.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Prior experience in the Middle East is preferred.
