Project Officer (Education)

About the role

The Project Officer (Education) will support UNESCO’s four‑year programme aimed at transforming Jordan’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system. Working under the Head of the Education Unit, the officer will coordinate, implement and monitor activities that strengthen institutional policies, enhance skills development, and promote gender‑inclusive TVET.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation of UNESCO’s TVET technical assistance in close collaboration with the Jordanian Ministry of Education and national partners.
• Monitor progress across three focus areas: institutional policy strengthening, sector‑specific skills development, and gender‑sensitive perception improvement.
• Prepare regular reports, briefs and documentation for donors, including the Canadian government’s sovereign loan.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops and knowledge‑sharing events with TVSDC, private sector and civil‑society actors.
• Ensure compliance with UNESCO core values and programme timelines.

Required profile

• University degree in education, development studies, public policy or a related field.
• At least 3‑5 years of experience in TVET programmes, gender mainstreaming or international development.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government agencies and multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is an asset.
