Protection Project Officer (Re‑advertised) – Amman, Jordan

About the role

The Protection Project Officer will lead the implementation of a donor‑funded programme aimed at safeguarding the most vulnerable refugees and host‑community members in Jordan. Based in Amman, the officer will work within an integrated protection, assistance and empowerment framework, focusing on women, girls, children and persons with disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, coordinate and monitor protection activities across the governorates of Zarqa, Amman, Mafraq and Irbid.
• Conduct individual, group and community level protection assessments and respond to identified needs.
• Facilitate economic empowerment initiatives and promote social inclusion for target groups.
• Strengthen the protection capacities of local partners and community structures.
• Ensure compliance with AICS donor requirements and produce regular reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with programme desks, headquarters and other NGOs to maximise impact.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in protection, gender‑based violence, child protection or psychosocial support within humanitarian settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with refugee populations and host‑community stakeholders in Jordan.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with fluency in English (Arabic an asset).
• University degree in social sciences, international relations, humanitarian studies or a related field.

Required skills

• Knowledge of international protection standards and best practices.
• Experience in needs‑assessment, case management and community‑based interventions.
• Proficiency in project monitoring, evaluation and documentation.
