Senior Assessment Officer (Public Health) – Amman

About the role

IMPACT Initiatives is seeking a Senior Assessment Officer to lead public‑health‑focused research in the occupied Palestinian territories. Based in Amman, the officer will work under the Research Manager to generate timely, evidence‑based insights that guide humanitarian interventions across food security, WASH, nutrition and health sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement household‑level and multi‑sectoral assessments in Gaza and the West Bank.
• Collect, clean, and analyse quantitative and qualitative data related to public health, food security, WASH and nutrition.
• Produce clear, concise reports, visualisations and presentations for donors, partners and field teams.
• Disseminate findings to inform coordination, operational planning and strategic decision‑making.
• Mentor junior team members on data collection methods, analysis techniques and reporting standards.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, epidemiology, nutrition, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience conducting humanitarian assessments or research in conflict‑affected settings.
• Proven ability to interpret complex datasets, identify trends and translate results into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience tailoring messages for diverse humanitarian audiences.
