Senior Backend Team Lead

We are seeking a Senior Backend Team Lead who enjoys building solid systems and helping engineers grow. This hands‑on leadership position sits at the intersection of architecture, delivery, and mentorship, allowing you to write code while shaping the team’s technical direction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a backend team to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high‑performance services.
• Set technical direction, review architecture decisions, and ensure predictable, clean delivery.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and DevOps teams to translate requirements into reliable backend solutions.
• Mentor engineers, conduct constructive code reviews, and support skill development.
• Participate in planning, work breakdown, realistic estimation, and proactive removal of blockers.
• Hands‑on design, coding, debugging, and system‑level trade‑off analysis.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional backend or software development experience, including production operations.
• Proven experience leading or coaching a small to mid‑sized backend engineering team.
• Strong foundation in computer science concepts, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
• Experience with microservices or modular architectures in production.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior and mid‑level engineers.

Required skills

• Designing APIs and backend services at scale.
• Proficiency in Node.js, Python, or Go (production‑level).
• Hands‑on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Microservices architecture, cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, and distributed systems.
• Performance optimization, monitoring, and system observability (metrics, logs, alerts).
