Senior Business Development & Grants Manager – Multi‑Country Office (MENAE)

About the role

Mercy Corps is seeking a senior professional to lead business development, pre‑positioning and grants functions across its Multi‑Country Office (MCO) covering Syria, Jordan and Yemen. Based in Amman, the role will drive resource mobilisation, donor engagement and high‑quality proposal development to support the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for program development, business development and grants management across the three countries, aligned with Mercy Corps’ Pathway to Possibility strategy.
• Lead multi‑country resource mobilisation efforts, ensuring competitive proposals and effective grant lifecycle management.
• Manage donor relationships, oversee compliance, and coordinate reporting with regional award management.
• Directly supervise a Reporting Officer, setting objectives, conducting performance reviews and fostering professional growth.
• Collaborate closely with Country Managers, Program Teams, Business Development and Technical teams to ensure harmonised and consistent approaches.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in business development and grants management within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑country teams and coordinate complex donor portfolios.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, proposal development and grant reporting.
• Excellent leadership, mentorship and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
