Senior Projects Officer (2 positions)

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is seeking two highly committed Senior Projects Officers to join its Headquarters in Amman. Reporting to the Head of External Relations Services Section (P4), the role involves overseeing agency‑wide donor reporting, project monitoring and financial compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure high‑quality control of agency‑wide reporting to donors, reviewing and finalising project documents and progress reports.
• Coordinate input from the Projects Unit for performance monitoring, reporting and compliance.
• Perform high‑level monitoring of project implementation, advise on corrective actions, and analyse donor‑funded projects for management.
• Vet existing and new organisations making financial or in‑kind contributions in line with UNRWA’s vetting policy.
• Review and monitor the financial status of active projects, verifying consistency between expenditures and contractual stipulations.
• Facilitate information exchange between Field Offices, Programme Departments, Finance and ERCD for timely donor submissions.
• Provide expert advice to the ERCD Partnerships team on technical and financial project issues.
• Conduct research and formulate recommendations to support policy and procedure development.
