Senior Software Engineer - Foodics Accounting Platform

About the role

Foodics, a restaurant management ecosystem and payment technology provider founded in 2014, is building its own accounting platform from scratch: the layer that turns all the merchant activity in Foodics into clean, closed books. This is a new product built by a small squad, and you will be one of the first engineers on it. The scope covers a ledger, core accounting modules, ZATCA compliance and deep integration with inventory, payments and the POS.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build the core accounting product: general ledger, chart of accounts, journals, AP/AR, reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Own the integration surface: inventory, payments, POS transaction flows and regulatory e-invoicing.
• Work full stack, with no backend-only or frontend-only seat on a team of this size.
• Translate accounting requirements into system design with a product manager and a domain accountant.
• Use AI tooling as part of how you build, evaluating reference systems, generating and reviewing code.
• Make architectural decisions early and ship in weeks, not quarters, to real merchants.

Required profile

• 5+ years building production software, with meaningful time on accounting, ERP or financial systems, understanding double-entry and period close.
• Full-stack engineering, comfortable owning a feature from schema to screen.
• AI-native way of working, using agents and LLM tooling daily with sound judgment.
• Track record of shipping fast in an early-stage or greenfield environment.
• Able to work substantially within GMT+3 hours.
• Strong plus: product instinct, experience building or operating a ledger or double-entry engine, fintech or payments background, ERP familiarity, ZATCA e-invoicing experience, shipped AI-powered features, Arabic speaker.
