Senior Translator

About the role

The Senior Translator works on‑site in Amman, translating immigration, legal and personal documents with high accuracy while preserving meaning, tone and intent. The role supports consultants and case officers and may mentor junior translators.

Key responsibilities

• Translate a wide range of immigration, legal and personal documents, ensuring consistency and legal compliance.
• Proofread and edit translated texts to maintain accuracy and alignment with procedural requirements.
• Collaborate with consultants and case officers to clarify terminology and manage translation requests and deadlines.
• Maintain organized records of all translated documents and contribute to quality standards.
• Mentor junior translators and support continuous improvement of translation processes.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in at least two languages (e.g., Arabic and English) with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience translating legal, immigration or governmental documents.
• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize workload and meet strict deadlines.
• Discretion and commitment to client confidentiality.

Required skills

• Advanced proofreading and editing abilities.
• Familiarity with translation tools or software and basic computer skills for document management.
