Social Protection Associate (Jordan)

About the role

UNICEF Jordan is seeking a Social Protection Associate to support the operationalisation of the National Social Protection Strategy (2025‑2033). The role will be based on UN premises in Amman and will focus on strengthening cash‑plus models, community‑based organisations, and Makani centres to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of the cash‑plus model that combines cash transfers with complementary services.
• Support the strengthening of community‑based organisations delivering social protection services.
• Facilitate the institutionalisation of Makani centres as integrated community spaces for vulnerable children.
• Identify and develop child‑sensitive social protection approaches, such as a child cash grant.
• Collaborate with the Ministry of Social Development and other government partners to advance policy and programme objectives.

Required profile

• Understanding of social protection, public finance and poverty reduction concepts.
• Familiarity with Jordan’s socio‑economic context and the challenges faced by refugee‑hosting communities.
• Ability to work closely with government ministries, civil society and development partners.
