Tax Associate

About the role

The Tax Associate will support the regional in‑house tax function of a multinational engineering group based in Amman. The role bridges local finance teams, the regional tax headquarters and external advisors, ensuring compliance, reporting and audit defence across multiple subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tax calculations for corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, social security, stamp duty and other applicable taxes.
• Assist local operations during tax audits, objections and court cases.
• Prepare the annual tax note disclosure for consolidated financial statements.
• Maintain tax provisions and deferred tax asset/liability schedules, including related accounting entries.
• Maintain transfer pricing policy, models, contracting, invoicing and accounting entries.
• Coordinate preparation of master file and local file documentation for transfer pricing.
• Support country‑by‑country reporting and global minimum tax (Pillar Two) reporting.
• Advise on project contracting structures, M&A, restructuring and other business activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Taxation.
• 1–3 years of tax experience in public accounting or in‑house corporate tax.
• Familiarity with VAT/GST, corporate income tax and withholding tax in a cross‑border context.
• Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF statements).
• Basic understanding of transfer pricing concepts (arm’s length principle, intercompany transactions).
• Preferred: CPA, ACCA, ADiT or local equivalent (partly qualified accepted).
• Knowledge of Jordan tax laws and regulations.
