Volunteer - Family Corner Content Upload and Migration

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is looking for a volunteer to support its Ahlan Simsim Digital team in uploading content to the Family Corner website and its content management system (CMS). The volunteer checks that every page, file, image, video and link displays correctly and works as intended, and ensures everything is migrated properly. The role lasts two months and depends on careful, detail-focused work.

Key responsibilities

• Upload content to the Family Corner website via the CMS, following the templates, folder structure and file naming rules given by the Digital team, and place each item on the correct page with the right title, description, category and language version (Arabic or English).
• Compress files and resize images where needed, and upload videos to YouTube where required.
• Compare each uploaded page with the source content and check pages on desktop and mobile, including Arabic right-to-left display.
• Flag spelling and formatting errors in Arabic and English and fix them only as agreed with the Digital team; test every link, button, download and embedded video.
• Keep an Excel tracking sheet with source, upload location, date, status and issues resolved, and report CMS errors or unclear source content to the Digital team.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and good command of written Arabic and English.
• Good knowledge of digital files (PDFs, images, videos) and file naming and folder organization.
• Experience with MS Word and Excel, and quick learning of new online tools; experience with a CMS, website editor or Canva is preferred.
• Ability to apply categories and structures accurately; familiarity with early childhood development content is an advantage.
• Good time management, communication and independence, available for the full two months.
• Prior experience in data entry, content upload, proofreading or quality checking is preferred; a bachelor's degree or current university studies in early childhood development, education, communications or a related field is preferred.
