Application Support Engineer – TechOps (Shift-based)

About the role

The TechOps team is looking for an Application Support Engineer to provide advanced technical support for live platforms. You will work on‑site in Amman, handling shift‑based schedules to ensure rapid response and minimal downtime for partners, operations, and end users.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor live systems, respond to alerts, and log incidents.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 triage and escalation for booking, POS, and event systems.
• Maintain system stability, availability, and reliability around the clock.
• Use monitoring (e.g., Datadog) and ticketing tools (e.g., Jira) to track and resolve issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of technical application support experience.
• Comfortable working shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and on‑call.
• Calm under pressure with strong debugging and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and proactive problem‑solving attitude.

Required skills

• Web‑based applications and API knowledge.
• PHP development, preferably with Laravel framework.
• Monitoring tools such as Datadog.
• Ticketing systems like Jira.
• Understanding of DevOps tools and IT fundamentals.
• Basic networking concepts, REST APIs, and SQL.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerisation, and Kubernetes.
