Director of Radiology

About the role

The Director of Radiology provides strategic and operational leadership for a new radiology department, guiding it from initial planning through full operational launch and ongoing management. This senior position ensures safe, high‑quality diagnostic imaging services that align with the organization’s vision and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and establishment of radiology services for a hospital opening (2026‑2027).
• Design departmental structure, service delivery model, staffing plan, and workflow processes.
• Develop policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks to meet accreditation and safety standards.
• Oversee layout design, equipment planning, and radiation safety compliance.
• Implement and integrate RIS, PACS, HIS, and ERP systems for scheduling, reporting, billing, and asset management.
• Manage procurement, vendor selection, and lifecycle of imaging equipment.
• Establish quality‑assurance, radiation‑safety, and compliance programs before launch.
• Recruit, train, and certify radiology staff, ensuring readiness for go‑live.
• Provide ongoing strategic, clinical, and operational leadership post‑opening, overseeing daily operations, budgeting, and continuous quality improvement.
