Inventory Management SME (Telecom)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Management SME to lead and manage inventory management activities for a telecom project based in Damascus, Syria. The role involves ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and successful delivery throughout the program lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all operational and technical activities related to the Inventory Management System (IMS).
• Support IMS procurement, testing, acceptance and integration with other telecom systems.
• Oversee system upgrades and maintain IMS functionality for the duration of the program and beyond.
• Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, vendors and stakeholders, providing technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with telecom industry standards, project governance and operational procedures.
• Monitor program progress, guarantee accurate and timely asset inventory recording.
• Prepare technical reports, dashboards, presentations and management updates.
• Support planning, implementation, testing, optimization and hand‑over activities.
• Conduct risk assessments, manage issue resolution and escalation.
• Participate in technical reviews, audits, workshops and stakeholder meetings.
• Drive process improvement, automation and operational excellence initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and coordination support to cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 5–15 years of experience in telecom, infrastructure, operations or project management.
• Strong understanding of telecom infrastructure, operations, governance and service delivery.
• Experience with telecom operators, vendors, system integrators or large‑scale infrastructure projects (preferred).
• Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with PMO functions, reporting tools and operational dashboards (advantage).
• Relevant professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, CCNP, CISSP or PRINCE2.
