AI Engineer (Computer Vision and Applied GenAI)

About the role

We are seeking a mid‑level AI Engineer to join a fully remote, distributed team based in Amman, Jordan. The role focuses on turning AI prototypes into reliable production services, covering both computer‑vision pipelines and applied generative AI features.

Key responsibilities

• Design, train, fine‑tune and evaluate vision models (detection, classification, segmentation, tracking) and integrate them into production pipelines.
• Build LLM‑powered features such as retrieval‑augmented generation, tool‑using agents, structured extraction, and the supporting prompt and evaluation infrastructure.
• Develop APIs, data pipelines, batch and streaming jobs, and storage solutions around the models.
• Optimize models for target hardware, including quantisation, batching and edge‑device inference.
• Define, track and report quality metrics, establishing baselines before claiming improvements.
• Instrument, monitor and debug models in production, handling drift, latency and failure modes.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate vague needs into scoped, measurable deliverables.
• Document implementations to facilitate knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience building and shipping machine‑learning or AI systems in production.
• Fluent English; German is a strong plus.
• Strong Python programming skills with clean, testable code.
• Practical depth in either computer vision or applied GenAI, and familiarity with the other.
