Assistant Manager, Supply Chain Operations

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Supply Chain Operations will ensure smooth importation, transportation, and delivery of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods for IMS and third‑party customers across the MENA region. You will lead a small operational team, manage end‑to‑end shipments, and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and inspection companies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise import/export activities, including customs clearance and sea freight bookings.
• Coordinate with supply planners, import clearing officers, finance, and external partners to guarantee on‑time stock availability.
• Manage shipments across the MENA region and oversee triangular invoicing.
• Maintain SAP transaction records and ensure efficient physical flow of goods.
• Conduct process‑mapping and lean initiatives with suppliers to reduce total delivery cost and eliminate demurrage.
• Perform monthly functional health checks and review General Shipping Instructions.
• Monitor and resolve IMS claims within agreed lead times.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of experience in import/export or the shipping industry.
• Understanding of best practices in inter‑market supply and supply‑planning processes.
• University degree in Business Administration, International Procurement, or Materials Management.
• Knowledge of international trade, banking instruments, and customs regulations is a plus.
• Experience in business‑improvement projects.
