Category Manager – Commercial (Retail)

About the role

The Category Manager – Commercial will support MAF Retail’s local stores by driving sourcing, merchandising and sales development initiatives. This role ensures product availability, visual appeal and brand visibility across all points of sale while aligning with the company’s commercial strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with store teams to execute planograms, maintain merchandising standards and guarantee full product availability.
• Coordinate with vendors to secure timely deliveries, maintain inventory accuracy and support demand forecasting.
• Develop and manage weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual buying and merchandising plans, monitoring orders, budgets and category performance.
• Oversee pricing procedures, communicate financial and product strategies, and place promotions and best‑selling items in high‑visibility locations.
• Ensure visual merchandising standards are consistently applied and maintain branding elements and equipment.
• Participate in training workshops, create merchandising manuals and explore trade shows for new ideas.
• Implement design criteria, uphold company values and collaborate with marketing on promotional leaflets and campaigns.
• Work closely with replenishment teams to align store layouts with inventory levels and develop replenishment strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a category, private‑label or commercial role.
• Strong planning, organizational and project‑management capabilities.
• Solid knowledge of product, category and brand management with strong industry awareness.
• Proficiency in MS Office and strong analytical abilities to interpret data and drive insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
