Chef de Partie - Bakery

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton is hiring a full-time Chef de Partie for its bakery in Amman, Jordan. The role prepares special meals and substitutes, cooks food according to recipes and quality standards, and supports the kitchen team and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist, including cold foods.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures and pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared.
• Maintain food logs and inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials.
• Tell Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items.
• Anticipate guests' service needs and communicate assistance needed during busy periods.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model.
• Follow company and safety policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training, and keep a clean, professional appearance.

Required profile

• Preferred: technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, bend, twist and lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
