Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead and oversee all accounting operations for the holding companies, ensuring accurate financial records, effective internal controls, and timely reporting in line with IFRS and company policies. This senior role is based in Amman and involves close collaboration with HR, external auditors, and outsourced consultants to meet operational and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise overall accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely transaction processing and reporting.
• Oversee preparation of journal vouchers, financial reports, and financial analysis according to company policies.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and annual budgets, including latest estimate forecasts for the holding companies.
• Lead ERP system optimization initiatives and continuous process enhancements.
• Support external auditors by providing required account information and documentation.
• Monitor accounts payable ageing, ensuring timely payments and proactive balance management.
• Coordinate accounting activities for the Zug entity, working with HR and outsourced consultants.
• Control departmental purchase requisitions to ensure budget compliance and proper authorization.
• Lead the yearly fixed‑asset inventory count for the holding companies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of month‑end closing processes.
• Familiarity with International Accounting Standards (IAS) and IFRS.
• Proficiency in written, read and spoken Arabic and English.
