Commercial Finance and Operations Manager

About the role

An established international retailer is recruiting a hands-on Commercial Finance and Operations Manager. Reporting to the General Manager, the role combines responsibility for financial processes and reporting with leadership of key store operations. The manager manages the books, explains business performance and works directly with teams to improve sales, service and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting, month-end closing, reconciliations and accurate financial reporting.
• Manage the P&L, annual budgets, rolling forecasts, cash-flow planning and variance analysis.
• Maintain financial controls, coordinate audits and ensure compliance with company policies and local requirements.
• Partner with commercial teams on sales, pricing, margins, stock performance and investment decisions.
• Lead and develop teams within the operational remit, improving productivity, availability and customer service.
• Manage costs, supplier contracts and process improvements, turning financial insight into practical action.

Required profile

• Solid foundation in accounting and finance, with direct experience leading commercial or operational teams in a retail or customer-focused business.
• Background may include starting in finance before moving into operations, or progressing through store management while building accounting and financial responsibility.
• Confident reviewing accounts and working with teams on the shop floor.
• Relevant finance or accounting degree; professional accreditation such as CMA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong Excel and ERP skills, clear communication in English, and a practical, collaborative approach.
