Conference and Events Manager

About the role

Join IHG’s dynamic events team and take charge of delivering memorable meetings, conferences and special events. You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding them from the first enquiry through to a flawless execution on the day of the event.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination and successful delivery of meetings, conferences and events from enquiry through to completion.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and deliver exceptional experiences.
• Prepare tailored proposals, contracts and maximise sales opportunities to drive revenue.
• Oversee the accuracy of all event bookings, function sheets and operational details within the Sales & Catering system.
• Monitor event performance, prepare reports and analyse results to identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.
• Conduct pre‑event meetings, communicate client requirements to operational teams and ensure all specifications are met.

Required profile

• Fluent in spoken and written English; additional language skills are an advantage.
• Previous experience in conference and events management, hotel sales or a similar leadership role within hospitality.
• Proven ability to manage events from planning through to successful execution.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as business requires.
