Consultant for National Preparatory Sessions on VAC (Remote, 4.5 months)

About the role

This consultancy supports UNICEF country offices in preparing for the Second Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children (VAC). The consultant will provide coordination and technical assistance for national preparatory sessions, ensuring effective engagement of governments and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate national preparation processes for the upcoming GMC on VAC.
• Strengthen coordination across countries and regions.
• Support the review and development of national pledges.
• Engage governments, UN agencies, and development partners throughout the preparatory period.
• Collaborate closely with UNICEF country offices and the global VAC team.
• Organise and support policy dialogues, high‑level consultations, workshops and meetings.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, Development Management, Human Rights, Social Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in international development or public policy, including at least 3 years in child protection and/or VAC programming, policy or advocacy.
• Proven experience facilitating multi‑country or regional processes.
• Experience working with governments, UNICEF, UN agencies and development partners.
• Strong understanding of VAC prevention, systems strengthening and global frameworks such as INSPIRE.
