Consultant for UNICEF-UNHCR Child Protection Systems Strengthening (Remote)

About the role

The consultant will work jointly with UNHCR and UNICEF to ensure effective coordination of child‑protection implementation under the PROSPECTS initiative, fostering coherence between humanitarian and development streams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for high‑impact interventions to include refugee children in national child protection systems.
• Coordinate joint strategic policy advocacy initiatives and facilitate South‑to‑South learning among governments and civil‑society stakeholders.
• Develop learning products, guidance notes and evidence syntheses to accelerate inclusion and support reporting for the PROSPECTS programme.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in social work, migration, law, international development or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in child protection, forced displacement and humanitarian‑development programming, including work with UNICEF, UNHCR or similar agencies.
• Demonstrated expertise in national child‑protection system strengthening, refugee inclusion, policy development and multi‑stakeholder coordination.
• Strong analytical, writing and synthesis abilities to produce technical guidance, policy briefs and donor reports.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language is desirable.
