Core Lab Supervisor

About the role

The Core Lab Supervisor leads laboratory operations, ensuring accurate testing, compliance with accreditation standards, and efficient workflow across all sections. This position requires minimal supervision and involves developing procedures, overseeing staff, and maintaining high‑quality results for clinical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of laboratory staff, including scheduling and after‑hours coverage.
• Design and implement quality control and quality assurance programs in line with departmental guidelines.
• Develop, write, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory tests.
• Manage inventory, order supplies, and oversee vendor relationships.
• Validate test results, ensure timely reporting, and communicate critical findings to physicians.
• Operate, calibrate, and perform performance checks on automated and manual clinical laboratory equipment.
• Assist in budget preparation and monitor laboratory expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, universal precautions, and accreditation standards such as CAP and JCI.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Licensure or eligibility for registration as a Medical Technologist.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of accreditation standards (CAP, JCI) and laboratory safety regulations.
