About the role

JOSA is seeking a motivated Data Scientist to apply AI and machine‑learning techniques to socially‑focused projects. You will join a collaborative team that builds open‑source models aimed at creating positive impact in the community.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and format data, creating ETL pipelines for text‑based datasets.
• Fine‑tune and, when needed, pre‑train open‑source models for specific tasks.
• Analyze text data, extract insights, and visualise results for clear communication.
• Deploy machine‑learning models, monitor performance, and log relevant metrics.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, share findings, and contribute to the wider open‑source community.

Required profile

• Strong alignment with JOSA’s mission and values.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English.
• Ability to work independently and within a team on mission‑driven projects.
