Decorator Mechanic

About the role

The Decorator Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the optimal operation of decoration machinery and related equipment in a high‑volume can manufacturing environment. The role supports product quality and production efficiency by keeping the decoration line running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on decorators, coaters, ovens, and peripheral equipment according to schedule.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on decoration lines.
• Repair, overhaul, or replace worn components such as bearings, gears, motors, sensors, and control systems.
• Set up machines, execute changeovers, and adjust equipment to meet production specifications.
• Monitor equipment performance, record maintenance activities, and manage spare‑parts inventory.
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors to minimize downtime and improve line output.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new decoration machinery.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
• 1‑2 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or technician, preferably in manufacturing or packaging.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in industrial conditions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools and techniques.
• Problem‑solving skills for diagnosing complex machinery malfunctions.
