Evaluation Officer – Temporary Appointment (364 days)

About the role

The Evaluation Officer will lead the implementation of UNICEF Jordan's Costed Evaluation Plan and conduct ad‑hoc evaluations as required. This position supports evidence‑based decision‑making across programme areas such as Child Protection, Education, WASH, Health, Nutrition, Youth Engagement and Social Protection.

Key responsibilities

• Design, manage and oversee evaluations of country programmes and specific interventions.
• Develop evaluation tools, methodologies and work plans in line with UNICEF standards.
• Coordinate with programme teams, government partners and external evaluators to ensure timely data collection and analysis.
• Produce high‑quality evaluation reports, synthesize findings and provide actionable recommendations.
• Contribute to learning and knowledge‑sharing activities within the country office and regional networks.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, public policy, international development or a related field.
• Relevant experience in programme evaluation, monitoring and learning, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience drafting evidence‑based reports.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is an asset.

• Experience with data collection tools and qualitative/quantitative techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
