Finance and Budgeting Specialist

About the role

ACAPS is looking for a Finance and Budgeting Specialist to lead budgeting, forecasting and financial performance analysis. You will ensure high‑quality financial planning, accurate budget management in the Deltek Maconomy ERP, and provide strong financial support to programmes and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain day‑to‑day budget control, monitor grants and ensure financial quality of the ACAPS Master Budget.
• Initiate and coordinate project budgeting in Maconomy, draft budgets, and manage uploads, revisions and approvals.
• Prepare budget‑vs‑actual analyses, identify variances and deliver recommendations.
• Lead forecasting and re‑forecasting processes, updating budgets based on operational changes.
• Support proposal budgeting, ensure compliance with ACAPS and donor rules, and set up project cost structures in the financial system.
• Contribute to donor and management financial reporting, drafting reports and creating dashboards.
• Assist budget holders in financial discussions with donors, including negotiations and modifications.
• Stay informed of ACAPS financial strategies, policies and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis within a non‑profit or humanitarian context.
• Strong knowledge of donor reporting requirements and financial governance.
• Ability to work closely with finance, grants and programme teams to provide actionable financial insights.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce clear, concise reports.
