Fitness Center Instructor

About the role

The fitness center at the Saint Regis hotel in Amman is looking for a full-time, non-management instructor to teach group fitness classes and give guests fitness advice. The position is based at the hotel's fitness facility and involves instructing at all ability levels while keeping a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct group fitness classes such as aerobics, spinning and strength training at all ability levels.
• Advise individuals on the correct use of fitness equipment and assess their current exercise program and fitness level to design personalized programs and provide fitness counseling.
• Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere, welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and thank them sincerely.
• Observe the facility, respond to emergencies in line with local procedures, and help injured guests until emergency services arrive.
• Clean and maintain the recreational area, equipment and supplies, and call maintenance or an outside service company when machines need service.
• Report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager, complete safety training and certifications, and follow company policies and confidentiality rules.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience; no supervisory experience required.
• CPR certification and first aid certification.
• Any certification or training required by local and state agencies.

Required skills

• Fitness instruction and fitness equipment knowledge.
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, lift objects up to 50 pounds unaided and more with assistance, and move through narrow, uneven or elevated spaces.
• Ability to read small print and visually inspect tools and equipment.
