Food & Beverage Captain

About the role

A hotel belonging to the Accor network is looking for a Captain to oversee its Food & Beverage outlets, including restaurants, lounges and beverage service areas. The role combines operational coordination, team leadership and event support.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth operation of all hotel Food & Beverage outlets and deliver excellent service through high staff morale and strong team spirit.
• Schedule the F&B team, report hours worked to the Food & Beverage Coordinator and enter schedules into the system.
• Motivate and support all team members, and coordinate F&B requirements for hotel events and functions.
• Ensure accurate F&B billing for groups and guests.
• Take part in training and coaching new and existing team members and in the Manager on Duty program for the hotel restaurants.
• Stay health and safety conscious, take part in the hotel's environmental program and comply with hotel policies, procedures and the code of ethics.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management, uphold high customer service standards, and work shifts in other F&B departments as directed.

Required profile

• One year of supervisory experience in a hotel restaurant or lounge (four-diamond hotel).
• Two years of progressive experience in a high-volume hotel restaurant or lounge.
• Thorough working knowledge of hotel food & beverage operations and excellent, proven product knowledge.
• Good English communication skills; fluency in English is required, additional languages are a plus.
• Experience is an asset; prior experience with Opera or a related system is an asset.
