Global Child Online Protection Consultant (5.5 months)

About the role
UNICEF is seeking a senior consultant to lead its Global Child Online Protection work within the Child Protection and Migration Global Practice. The assignment lasts 5.5 months, is remote‑based with travel to Amman and other locations, and focuses on EU digital policy, AI, and platform regulation.
Key responsibilities
- Advance UNICEF’s positions in EU legislative processes related to child online safety.
- Provide strategic and technical support to regional and country teams, including the African Task Force on Child Online Protection.
- Produce high‑quality analysis and thought leadership on emerging digital risks for children.
- Organise and facilitate high‑visibility multi‑sector convenings and global discussions.
- Support phase 1 deliverables and prepare for potential phase 2 extension.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in law, social sciences, anthropology or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in child protection, digital policy, or related areas.
- Demonstrated experience influencing policy at regional or international levels.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of EU digital policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Expertise in child online protection, AI governance, and platform regulation.
- Strong analytical and report‑writing abilities.
