Head of MENA Patents – Lead Regional Patent Practice

About the role

CWB is seeking a Head of MENA Patents to lead and expand its patent practice across the Middle East and North Africa. The role combines strategic leadership, business development, and hands‑on legal work to ensure high‑quality service and growth in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the regional patent practice, monitor performance, and ensure KPI targets are met.
• Drive revenue retention and generate new business through cross‑selling and client acquisition.
• Manage the practice’s revenue budget in collaboration with executive leadership.
• Lead strategic initiatives and contribute to executive and ExCom discussions on practice growth.
• Set service level standards to maximise productivity, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
• Coach, manage, and develop patent attorneys and paralegal teams across multiple MENA jurisdictions.
• Promote adoption of technology, systems and AI‑driven solutions to improve operational efficiency.
• Handle substantive day‑to‑day patent work, providing strategic advice and technical guidance to clients.

Required profile

• Engineering, computer science, chemistry, biotech or physics degree.
• Senior‑level patent professional with experience leading patent practices in the MENA region, preferably at partner or equivalent level.
• Proven track record working with executive management and driving business development.
• Strong commercial, operational and stakeholder‑management capabilities in a fast‑paced regional environment.
• Fluency in English.
