Impact and ESG Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Impact and ESG Manager to lead impact measurement and management across the fund, from pre‑investment screening to portfolio monitoring and reporting. You will translate our impact thesis into evidence‑based practice, set frameworks, conduct analysis, and work directly with founders to strengthen impact creation and measurement.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve Anara’s impact measurement and management (IMM) methodology using recognized standards such as Impact Frontiers, IFC Operating Principles, GIIN IRIS+, and the SDGs.
• Lead impact and ESG due diligence on prospective investments, including impact scoring, risk assessment, and additionality analysis.
• Track portfolio impact performance, run periodic data collection, and produce reporting for LPs, grant partners, and other stakeholders.
• Produce Anara’s flagship annual impact report summarising fund‑level outcomes.
• Embed ESG risk management throughout the investment lifecycle and support compliance with institutional investor requirements.
• Work directly with portfolio founders to build their impact and ESG measurement capacity.
• Contribute to sectoral deep dives, represent Anara’s impact approach externally, and help shape the regional impact‑investing ecosystem.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in impact measurement, ESG, development finance, impact investing, or a closely related field.
• Strong command of impact and ESG frameworks and ability to apply them pragmatically to early‑stage companies.
• Analytical rigor with comfort working with both quantitative KPIs and qualitative outcome evidence.
• Excellent communication skills and experience producing investor‑ or board‑grade reporting.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Arabic.
