Junior Backend Engineer

About the role

Khibraty is a high‑growth startup seeking a Junior Backend Engineer to join a fast‑paced team. You will work closely with senior engineers, product managers, and frontend developers to build reliable backend services and internal tools while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs under senior guidance.
• Support, maintain, and improve existing applications and internal tools, addressing bugs and technical debt.
• Build internal tools that improve efficiency for ops, support, and product teams.
• Implement business logic and integrations for product features on tight timelines.
• Participate in sprint planning, stand‑ups, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of backend development experience, preferably in a startup or fast‑iteration setting.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset, adaptability, and willingness to learn quickly.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in a fast‑moving team.

Required skills

• Node.js / JavaScript for backend services.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Basic understanding of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Version control with Git and modern development workflows.
