Junior Network Engineer

About the role

Blink, a rapidly growing ISP, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Network Engineer to join its technical team. The role supports the maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of the company's fiber and microwave internet services, offering hands-on experience in a fast-paced ISP environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor network performance, identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Assist senior network engineers in designing, implementing and maintaining fiber and microwave networks.
• Perform routine maintenance such as software updates, patch management and configuration of routers, switches and firewalls.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams and help resolve network issues quickly.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, configurations and logs.
• Help monitor network security, identify vulnerabilities and implement security measures.
• Support the installation and configuration of hardware and software as the network expands, especially in areas with new fiber or AirFiber installations.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Engage with potential customers to understand their technical and business needs and turn them into suitable solutions.
• Stay up to date with the latest networking technologies and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in network engineering or IT support; internships or entry-level positions are a plus.
• Good verbal and written communication in English and Arabic.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, problem-solving ability and willingness to work as part of a technical team.
• Preferred: experience with ISPs or telecoms companies, familiarity with fiber and microwave technologies, and knowledge of network management software such as NetFlow and SNMP.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching and network protocols.
• CCNA or similar networking certification is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities such as Wireshark and Nagios.
• Basic knowledge of network security principles.
