Laundry Attendant

About the role

We are seeking a Laundry Attendant to join our housekeeping team at Marriott International in Amman. The role involves operating and monitoring washing, dry‑cleaning, and drying equipment while ensuring linens and garments meet our high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate washing, dry‑cleaning, and drying machinery, add chemicals, and clean lint traps.
• Identify stained or damaged items and determine appropriate actions (repair, spot‑treatment, rewash, or discard).
• Inspect cleaned articles, place them in linen carts, and fold them to designated sizes manually or with a folding machine.
• Set dryer times and temperatures based on fabric types and maintain accurate laundering records.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning dryer screens, filters, and drain traps after each load.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a professional appearance, protect confidential information, and support team goals.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb without assistance.
• Capability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces and navigate uneven or slippery surfaces.
• No high school diploma or GED required; no prior experience necessary.
• Willingness to follow safety training, company policies, and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong teamwork orientation and ability to respond to coworkers’ concerns.
