Lead Software Engineer – Python Backend Technical Lead

About the role

CFI Financial Group is seeking an experienced Backend Technical Lead to drive the design and implementation of high‑performance Python services for its online trading platform. You will work closely with product owners, architects, and senior leadership to deliver new features and maintain existing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define and develop new product features.
• Write technical specifications, choose appropriate technologies, and ensure coding standards are followed.
• Present implementations to team leads, heads of engineering, and the CTO.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to guarantee software quality.
• Participate in code reviews, identify anti‑patterns, and drive refactoring initiatives.
• Ensure solutions meet security, modifiability, and extensibility requirements.

Required profile

• BSc in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of professional software development experience, with at least 1 year in a technical lead role.
• Strong attention to detail and a solid technical mindset.
• Experience with software quality assurance principles and SDLC processes.

Required skills

• Python (primary language); PHP considered a plus.
• Design and architecture of service‑oriented applications.
• SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
• Message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Microservices development and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform).
• WebSocket implementation.
• Version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
• Understanding of web security standards and best practices.
