Logistics Officer (Group I) – DG ECHO, Amman

About the role

The European Commission’s Directorate‑General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) is seeking a Logistics Officer (Group I) to join its Amman office. Based in Jordan, you will support the country team by overseeing procurement, asset, fleet and inventory management while ensuring compliance with EU regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise procurement and logistics operations across the office, managing contracts, suppliers and process improvements.
• Oversee the management, maintenance and control of DG ECHO assets, office equipment and property.
• Supervise fleet activities including vehicle procurement, maintenance, insurance, disposal and strategic planning.
• Ensure effective inventory control, asset registration, tracking, reporting, annual inventories and write‑off procedures.
• Manage protocol, accreditation, customs clearance and housing processes, liaising with local authorities.
• Act as regional focal point for logistics and protocol, provide surge support to field offices and deliver training.

Required profile

• Second‑level university degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience at national or international level in administration, procurement or logistics.
• Demonstrated knowledge of purchase orders, contract preparation, tendering and protocol processes.
