Managing Partner – Lead a Marketing Agency

About the role

We are looking for a Managing Partner to own and grow Welltold, our in‑house marketing agency. You will be responsible for the full business performance, from profit & loss to client acquisition and delivery, operating as a true partner rather than an employee.

Key responsibilities

• Own the agency P&L, driving revenue, margin and profitability.
• Develop and manage the new‑business pipeline: pitch, close and retain clients.
• Set pricing, scope services and define the commercial model (rate card, productised offerings).
• Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high renewal rates and satisfaction.
• Oversee delivery, ensuring projects meet brief, deadlines and quality standards.
• Build and shape the team within agreed headcount and budget, approving all hires.
• Establish processes for utilization, invoicing and capacity planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience running an agency or a time‑based services business.
• Track record of scaling a small operation into a profitable entity.
• Strong commercial acumen: pricing, margin management and ability to walk away from unprofitable work.
• Credibility with senior clients and ability to lead client conversations.
• Demonstrated talent for building high‑performing teams.
• Highly organised with rigorous pipeline, scoping and invoicing discipline.
• Motivation for ownership and partnership rather than a traditional title.
