MEAL Director

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Director will lead evidence‑based decision‑making for the Jordan Humanitarian and Systems Strengthening (JHASS) – Protection component. Reporting to senior management, you will design, implement and continuously improve MEAL systems that deliver high‑quality data, ensure accountability, and support adaptive management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the JHASS‑Protection MEAL plan in line with FCDO and Pathfinder standards.
• Ensure cost‑effective, results‑oriented MEAL activities and alignment of indicators with GEDSI commitments and Value for Money (VfM) principles.
• Collaborate with partners to design and implement MEAL‑related activities, including integration of project and global indicators into Pathfinder’s DHIS2 system.
• Guide annual implementation of the MEAL plan, set targets, and refine the learning agenda with the Project Management Team.
• Work with FCDO to finalise the conceptual framework and MEL plan.
• Mentor and develop MEAL staff, fostering a culture of data utilisation and learning.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading MEAL functions in humanitarian or health programmes.
• Strong understanding of GEDSI, Value for Money, and donor reporting requirements.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including partners, donors and government agencies.

Required skills

• DHIS2 data management and reporting.
