Network Administrator II

About the role

Network Administrator II leads a team responsible for maintaining and evolving LAN/WAN, VoIP, and security infrastructure for military and civilian customers. The role reports to the NOC Chief Watch Officer and supervises subordinate network administrators.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and operation of VoIP phones, switches, routers (wired, wireless) and encryption devices.
• Monitor availability and reliability of LAN/WAN and wireless networks.
• Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including firewalls, access points, routers, switches, and HAIPE encryption devices.
• Report outages and corrective actions to NOC service desk and Watch Officer, providing updates.
• Resolve user issues and manage VLANs, ACLs, and sub‑netting.
• Use Spectrum and other tools to manage and administer the network.
• Plan network development and expansion, enforce DISA STIG compliance and security best practices.
• Provide advanced technical support to subordinate sites and train new Network Administrator I personnel.
• Perform disaster recovery operations and data backups as required.

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN troubleshooting and Cisco IOS.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior network staff.
• Ability to obtain and maintain host‑nation visa and driver’s license.
• Strong communication skills for advising military and civilian customers.
