About the role
The Network Engineering Support role is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex LAN/WAN environments supporting critical US government missions. The position requires deep technical expertise in routing, switching, and security technologies, as well as the ability to travel overseas to provide on‑site support.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and troubleshoot LAN/WAN communications, including installation of new devices and ongoing infrastructure maintenance.
- Configure and maintain Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, firewalls, and related hardware.
- Implement and support routing protocols (RIP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF) and advanced services such as MPLS, VPLS, VPNs, and traffic engineering.
- Provide technical support for wireless, Riverbed, and Call Manager Express solutions.
- Maintain network security devices, management systems, and ensure compliance with DoD standards.
- Document project progress, system tests, and provide timely updates for all assigned tasks.
- Travel OCONUS as required, supporting mission‑critical networks abroad.
Required profile
- Active US Government Secret clearance.
- US citizenship.
- Compliance with DoD 8140 qualification requirements for Network Operations Specialist (Work Role 441).

- Network domains: SIPR, NIPR, CENTRIXS, BICES, CPOF, CENTCOM Partner Networks, WLAN.
- Switching protocols: CST, MISTP, PVST, RPVST+, VTP, DTP, GVRP, MAB, VLAN, private VLAN.
- IP services: WCCP, AAA, QoS, IP SLA, EEM, Syslog, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, NTP.
