Prep Cook (Junior)

About the role

The kitchen is looking for a motivated Junior Prep Cook to support daily food preparation. You will work closely with chefs to ensure ingredients are ready, stations are organized, and meals are produced according to recipe standards.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the prep list created by chefs and set up workstations.
• Label, stock, and organize all ingredients for easy access.
• Measure ingredients and seasonings accurately.
• Wash, chop, and cut vegetables, meat, and other items.
• Perform basic cooking tasks such as making sauces and par‑boiling foods.
• Prepare simple dishes like salads and entrees for service.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and handling waste.
• Monitor inventory, report damaged or expiring items, and ensure proper storage.
• Collect customer feedback on food quality and relay suggestions to management.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in culinary science (or related field) is a plus.
• 0‑2 years of experience in food preparation and presentation.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, and fryers.
• Ability to measure, season, and portion ingredients accurately.
• Basic cooking techniques including sauce preparation and par‑boiling.
